Having studied sculpture at the Brera Academy in Milan, Ali discovered printmaking soon after moving to Cranbrook. Most of her prints are collagraphs which are made from cutting into and tearing a prepared mount board plate, which is then inked up. She has recently added layers to her work by monoprinting on top of her collagraphs.
